Here are results from the Egidijus Kavaliauskas-Juan Carlos Abreu undercard Saturday night at Save Mart Center in Fresno, California:

Junior lightweight prospect Gabriel Flores Jr. went the distance for a third straight bout, but he soundly defeated James De Herrera in a physical, rough six-rounder.

The 18-year-old Flores (9-0, 5 KOs), of Stockton, California, knocked down De Herrera in the first round and won by the same score, 60-53, on each of the three judges’ cards.

De Herrera (4-5, 3 KOs), of College Station, Texas, has lost five of his past six fights and lost by knockout for the third time as a pro.

Flores landed two overhand rights and two left hooks during a successful sequence in the fourth round, but De Herrera took those punches well. Flores floored De Herrera with a short left hook in the first round, but De Herrera withstood that trouble and made it to the second round.

Heavyweight contender Andy Ruiz out-boxed veteran Kevin Johnson to win a 10-round unanimous decision. Ruiz (31-1, 20 KOs), of Imperial, California, defeated Johnson (32-10-1, 16 KOs), of Lawrenceville, Georgia, by scores of 99-91, 97-93 and 97-93.

Junior welterweight prospect Ruben Rodriguez was more active and accurate on his way to recording a unanimous-decision victory over Richard Ray Howell in a four-rounder.

The 21-year-old Rodriguez (3-0, 1 KO), of Indio, California, won on all three scorecards (40-36, 40-36, 39-37). Rodriguez rocked Howell by landing a left hook with just over two minutes remaining in the third round, but he couldn’t drop Dallas’ Howell (2-2-2, 1 KO).

Howell had some success, but he didn’t throw nearly enough punches to make the fight more competitive.

In the first fight on the card, Mexican veteran Guadalupe De Leon became the first of Joseph Addorno’s eight professional opponents to even remotely test him. De Leon still didn’t make it out of the third round against the unbeaten, 19-year-old junior lightweight prospect from Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Addorno (8-0, 8 KOs) knocked down the 39-year-old De Leon (9-16-1, 5 KOs) in the third round and stopped him with 28 seconds to go in that round.

De Leon landed a few right hands and left hooks in the second and third rounds, but De Leon hurt him badly with a left hook when there were 55 seconds to go in the third round. Three seconds later, Addorno drilled De Leon with a right hand that sent him crashing to the canvas.

De Leon made it to his feet. Addorno attacked him immediately and unloaded a barrage of power punches to the head that forced referee Gerard White to stop the action at 2:32 of the third round.
