German super middleweight, 22-year old Leon Bauer (17-0-1) is the new co-challenger for the vacant EBU title.
The other co-challenger, for a long time, is former WBA champ Giovanni De Carolis (28-9-1), who was first to take on then champ Tyron Zeuge (24-1-1). However Zeuge was forced to relinquish the title due to an injury. Ukrainian Maksym Bursak stepped in to fight De Carolis for the vacant title but he is now also out due to an injury.
Deadline for agreements or purse bids is November 30. The winner of De Carolis - Bauer will have Zeuge as mandatory challenger.
French Ringstar Promotions were the sole bidders today for the fight for the vacant EU heavyweight title between Tony Yoka and Croatian Petar Milas. Ringstar bid no less than 271,000 Euro and that is a lot of money for a fight at this level.
Ringstar plan to stage the fight in December.
Yoka is already officially announced to fight Christian Hammer on November 27 in Nantes.
For Sanman CEO Jim Calude Manangquil “THE RESTART” on November 21 is just another major event as it commences the outfit’s closed door activities during pandemic times.
But for Marlon “The Nightmare” Tapales, Aston Palicte and Joey Canoy, it will be huge bouncing-back party as they will try to bring back momentum into their careers after recent world title challenge losses.
Tapales recently suffered a TKO loss from the hands of Japanese Ryosuke Iwasa. Palicte’s most notable loss was against Kazuto Ioka. Joey Canoy failed to wrestle the IBO 105 belt from Nkosinathi Joyi. However, losing is part of every world champion’s journey and these guys are not just giving up on their aspirations. They are coming back. They vowed to come back stronger and better.
"They worked hard to be on top. A loss won't stop them. If they are victorious on November 21, we are looking again for world title opportunities on 2021.”, Sanman CEO Jim Claude Manangquil stated.
