Terry Flanagan will look to continue his quest for another world title shot in the new year after ending 2019 on a high.

The 30-year-old, a former WBO world lightweight champion, was in action at the Eventim Olympia in Liverpool.

Flanagan boxed just five weeks ago in Belfast, with Michael Ansah being disqualified, exclusively live on iFL TV worldwide and ESPN + Stateside.

And ‘Turbo’ boxed on the same platform, as part of the supporting cast to Rocky Fielding’s return to the ring against Abdallah Paziwapazi on an MTK Fight Night offering.

Flanagan knocked down Honduras’ Jayro Duran in their eight-round contest and came out on the right end of an 80 points to 71 scorecard.

Meanwhile, Martin Murray is in a similar position to Flanagan in the middleweight division.

The former four-time world title challenger is planning another assault on world level in the new year and remained on track with a straightforward 80-72 win over Bosnia’s Sladan Janjanin.

Jeff Ofori got a well-deserved win in what many saw as a 50-50 fight.

The former Southern Area champion took on previously undefeated Ged Carroll over eight rounds and hurt the hometown man on several occasions.

Carroll, who trains in the No Limits Gym in Liverpool, was bloodied and bruised at the end of the contest against the fresher Ofori who had his arm raised after a 79 points to 75 verdict was read out.

Mikey Hedges boxed for the second time since turning professional back in September.

The man who is trained by John Gillies at the Four Corner Combat Gym in his home city came out on top against Dylan Draper over four rounds, taking a 40 points to 36 verdict, while his gym-mate James Heneghan –– who is now 3-0 since turning over back in July –– got the better of Geiboord Omier, the latest product of the Spanish-based Nicaraguan journeymen conveyor belt, by the same margin.
