Vladimir Hryunov, manager of WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (24-0, 16KOs), is very interested in matching his fighter against former champion David Haye (25-2, 23KOs) in the future.

After a one year layoff, Haye returned to the ring on Saturday in West Ham and stopped British rival Dereck Chisora in five rounds.

"In this fight, Haye proved that boxing is the [superior] art form, having defeated a major contender who was physically stronger. Haye has more experience than Chisora, who despite his strong desire - could not prove himself in this fight. I also think that Chisora could not control his anger in the ring," Hyrunov said.

Povetkin's promoter, Kalle Sauerland, was ringside at Upton Park to watch Haye-Chisora. Before their team can focus on a fight with Haye, Povetkin will first make a mandatory defense against former WBC champion Hasim Rahman in the fall.

"[Fighting Haye], why not? It would be very interesting. Alexander's promoter, Kalle Sauerland, attended the [Haye-Chisora fight] in London and had a conversation with haye's team. So in the near future we should see some of the details regarding this," Hyrunov
