Canadian puncher Adonis Stevenson (19-1, 16 KOs) is very confident that he has what it takes to defeat IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KOs). The IBF ordered both sides to reach an agreement by January 15th or purse bid will take place. Stevenson likes the aggressive style of Froch and see that as a big advantage for himself.

"I want Froch. I'm not afraid of Carl Froch. I love his style. His style is tailor-made for me. This is not a guy who is going to run, he rushes at his opponent. I think I can knock him out I hope to fight against him in the coming months and I will win the belt for Quebec, Canada and in memory of Emanuel Steward," said Stevenson.

With the passing of his trainer, Emanuel Steward, Stevenson will continue to train with coaches who are affiliated with Detroit's Kronk Gym.

The only thing to derail a title shot for Stevenson, is if Froch's promoter, Eddie Hearn, reaches an agreement with Sauerland Event for a rematch with Mikkel Kessler, the WBA's "regular" super middleweight champion. Stevenson's promoter, Yvon Michel of GYM, does not see a deal with Kessler being reached.

"My current feeling is that Adonis will face Froch in the spring. I do not think they will reach an agreemenet with Kessler," said Michel. "But if they do [reach an agreement], it makes no difference to us and we will fight in the spring for the belt against another opponent [because Froch will be stripped]."
