At the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, welterweight Brad Solomon (17-0, 7KOs) got the biggest win of his career with a unanimous ten round decision over Demetrius Hopkins (30-2-1, 11KOs). Hopkins allowed himself to get outworked over the ten round contest. Hopkins' corner urged him to stop waiting on Solomon. The exchanges were in Solomon's favor and he landed crisp combinations every time Hopkins got close. The scores 97-93, 99-91 and 99-91. Hopkins suffers his first loss since the decision defeat to Kendall Holt in 2008.
Super bantamweight contender Yan Barthelemy (12-2, 4KOs) dominated Francis Ruiz (9-5, 4KOs) over ten rounds of action. In the third round, Ruiz was badly hurt by a right hook and went down. He was able to survive until the bell and Barthelemy controlled the action the rest of the way. The scores were 98-91, 97-92 and 100-89.
Heavyweight Cedric Boswell (34-1, 26KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over former champion Oliver McCall (55-11, 37 KOs). The scores were 99-91, 99-92 and 98-92.
