Sharif Salim, manager of heavyweight prospect Seth Mitchell (22-0-1, 16KOs), has advised their hometown paper, the Maryland Gazette, that Mitchell's fight with Mike Mollo (20-3-1, 12KOs) will get pushed to September 16 in Las Vegas. krikya360.com had recently reported that Mitchell's fight with Mollo will likely heading to that September date, which Golden Boy Promotions is trying to finalize as a special ESPN televised event.

Mitchell was going to face Mollo on the Robert Guerrero-Marcos Maidana undercard, initially scheduled for this coming Saturday in California, but the entire card was cancelled after Guerrero injured his left shoulder and withdrew.

Salim told the paper that Mitchell's level of competition will begin to rise in early 2012. Golden Boy will attempt to get him additional fights in October and December to close the year out, said Salim.

“We’re probably in that last stage of prudence and deliberation in terms of fight selection,” said Salim. “Toward the end of this year, we’ll be looking at fighting some of those fading in glory such as [former undisputed heavyweight champ] Hasim Rahman, Michael Grant and Andrew Golota. We’re at this point now where we have to be somewhat careful.”
