WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (50-2-2, 28KOs) is open to a rematch with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1-1, 32KOs) in 2013. On September 15th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Martinez won a twelve round unanimous decision to capture the title.

Martinez was very skeptical about facing Chavez in a rematch at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Argentine champion has no problem with the venue - but only if Chavez Jr. agrees to certain terms related to Olympic style drug testing.

Last week Chavez failed his post-fight drug test. The Nevada State Athletic Commission revealed that Chavez tested positive for marijuana.

"If he wants to box there, there must be a condition to undergo Olympic testing for one month [prior to the fight], one week [prior to the fight] and one day before the fight," Martinez said.

Before a rematch with Chavez, Martinez would like to make his first defense in Argentina. That may be possible with Chavez likely serving a suspension for the drug violation.
