krikya360.com was informed of a change to the purse bid deadline for Vernon Forrest's mandatory defense of the WBC junior middleweight title against Sergio Martinez. The date has been bumped from November 28 to December 1. It was previously bumped from November 14 to November 28. Martinez stopped Alex Bunema on October 4 to capture the WBC's interim title. Forrest (41-3, 29KOs) will get stripped if he doesn't defend the title against Martinez.
Martinez (44-1, 24KOs) told krikya360.com that he doesn't want Forrest to get stripped by the WBC. He wants the chance to beat him for the title in the ring.
"He needs to stop running. There is nowhere else to go. He has two more weeks as champion, but I don't want him to give up the title. I want to beat him for the title. Vernon, put on your pantalones, get in the ring and let's fight," Martinez said.
