Middleweight Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez is being flooded with questions pertaining to a possible fight with WBC champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., but the Argentine boxer will not be overlooking his upcoming fight with Darren Barker on October 1. Chavez, who returns on September 17 against Ronald Hearns, has to fight Martinez by March of 2012.

"I'm fully focused, but every time I talk to the press the first thing they want to talk about is a fight with Chavez Jr., so it's hard to take a break from [talking about] Chavez, but my work is 100% focused on the 1st of October," said Martinez on the Todo De Radio Belgrano."

"Barker has a lot of motivation because it is his big night in boxing. He's most dangerous at the middle distance. There is a very interesting defense. [A fight with Chavez] motivates me accomplish things so I get my world title. The media support has encouraged me because it was unclear how they took away my belt and gave it to Chavez Jr. on a plate."
