A major drug sting in Massachusetts has led to the arrests of 25 individuals, including Scott "The Sandman" Pemberton (29-5-1, 24KOs), who held a variety of minor middleweight titles during his career and is best remembered for his wins over Omar Sheika in two fight-of-year type wars, and his losses to Jeff Lacy, Charles Brewer and Peter Manfredo, Jr.

Pembleton, 40, was arrested on Wednesday and is facing drug conspiracy and possession charges.

According to  The Standard Times , law enforcement officials recovered 711 grams of cocaine, 15 pounds of marijuana, numerous narcotic prescription pills, a gun, brass knuckles, laptop computers and several cell phones, all coming from five seperate homes that authorities seized during the Wednesday sweep.

The Times reported that Pemberton, who lives in Dartmouth, was heard in wiretapped conversations, discussing drugs with Stanley P. Lemos, the alleged ring leader. Undercover agents also witnessed a drug deal between Pemberton and Lemos at the Dartmouth Building Supply.

Pemberton retired from boxing after being knocked out by Manfredo in 2006.
