Coliseo Roberto Clemente, San Juan, Puerto Rico - Orlando Salido (38-11-2, 26KOs) knocked out Juan Manuel Lopez (31-2, 28KOs) for a second time, this time in the tenth round, to retain the WBO featherweight title. Last April, Salido stopped Lopez in the eight round to capture the title.

Salido took charge in the first two rounds and pushed Lopez back. Lopez appeared to by a little hesitant to exchange and he was getting hit too often. At the end of the second, Lopez let his hands go, but Salido blocked many of the shots. Lopez was not taking the punches very well in the third round as well. Salido was landing the hard right and shaking Lopez up. At the end of the third, Lopez stood his ground to exchange, but Salido won the slugging match.

In the fourth, Lopez found some of his lost groove and started landing a few good punches on Salido. In the fifth round, Salido hurt Lopez and had him in all sorts of trouble - but at the end of the round Lopez landed a counter-right hook on Salido's chin to score a knockdown with the entire arena going in a frenzy.

They were trading big punches at the start of the sixth round. Salido doing more of the damage and landing some hard right hands. Salido continued to control the action in the seventh. Lopez took charge in the eight and they were trading hard shots for most of the three minutes. Both of them looked tired going into the ninth.

They went to war once again in the ninth, with three minutes of back and forth punches with both hands. Lopez pushed forward with Salido fighting him at close range. Both of Salido's eyes were swelling up.

At the start of the tenth, Salido landed a massive combination, two uppercuts and a right hand, to put Lopez down and nearly out. Lopez made it up, he was very hurt and the referee stopped the fight.
