WBC interim-lightweight champion Ryan Garcia is blaming eight division champion Manny Pacquiao -- claiming that it was the Filipino superstar who walked away from a potential fight.
Garcia says he was ready to move up by two weight divisions to make the fight, but nothing pushed forward besides a handful of loose conversations.
"Manny came to offer me the fight," Garcia explained to TMZ on his way into Boa Steakhouse in L.A.
"Obviously, I would love to fight Manny Pacquaio, but that's on him. That's on him."
Pacquiao, 42-years-old, has been away from the ring since July of 2019, when he picked up a twelve round split decision over Keith Thurman to capture the WBA welterweight title.
Earlier this month, the sanctioning body removed Pacquiao from his world title position due to inactivity.
At the moment, Pacquiao's return is unknown - as he rejected the scenario of fighting behind closed doors.
Garcia, 22-years-old, is moving forward with his career and he wants a piece of Gervonta Davis, who holds the WBA 'regular' title at 135-pounds and the WBA's 'super' title at super featherweight.
Davis saw action last year when he brutally knocked out Leo Santa Cruz.
Garcia fought last month, when he picked up the biggest win of his pro career with a knockout of 2012 Olympic gold medal winner Luke Campbell.
He raised quite a few eyebrows in the aftermath, when he called out Davis and predicted a knockout victory in only two rounds.
"I think I made it very clear I want Gervonta Davis. That's the man I want and I'll knock him out in two rounds," Garcia said.
