Ryan Garcia wants to make sure he’s going tit for tat and operating on similar timelines to Gervonta “Tank” Davis.

Garcia announced on Twitter on Saturday that he will be returning to the ring in January, just like Davis.

Davis announced this week he’ll be fighting Hector Luis Garcia on Jan. 7.

Previous to that, earlier this week, Davis and Garcia jointly announced that a Showtime pay-per-view showdown was finalized for 2023 at a yet-to-be-determined venue in Las Vegas.

Davis and Garcia will meet in a 136-pound catchweight bout.

“I’ll be back in January as well! Stay tuned,” Garcia wrote.

Garcia fought twice in 2022 after returning from a 15-month layoff due to taking a break to address his mental health issues. Garcia scored a unanimous decision win against Emmanuel Tagoe in April and a knockout win against Javier Fortuna in July.

Davis has fought twice since Dec. 2021, a tough, rugged unanimous decision win against Isaac Cruz in December and a sixth-round TKO win against Rolando Romero in May.
