MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Ruben Guerrero, trainer of welterweight contender Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (31-2-1, 18KOs), was upset with the fight strategy of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs). Mayweather won a twelve round unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring the fight 117-111. Ruben says Mayweather refused to live up to his pre-fight promise - a toe to toe fight - and instead he was moving for the majority of the contest while looking for openings.

"I didn't expect him to [move] that much, but after Robert hit him the first couple of rounds - he felt it and that put him on his bicycle. I tried to tell Robert to go to body more. But he saw that Robert was going to the body and he ran more. You seen it, the last couple of rounds, he really ran. He didn't want to exchange. All he wanted to do was win by decision. Pop and move, pop and move, all he wanted to do was win by decision. I told my son to pressure him more, but when he put more pressure on him - Mayweather ran even more. How come he ran? He didn't do that with Cotto, he didn't do that with Ortiz, he didn't do that with Marquez or Hatton," Ruben told krikya360.com.

For his part, Robert told BoxingScene - "He turned from a bicycle into a motorcycle. I wasn't surprised [that he moved so much]. Floyd is a smart fighter. He's going to move. I already knew that coming in. I was trying to track him down but he was real quick. Every time I got him against the ropes, he would get out of there real quick."
