Freddie Roach, trainer of WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, believes there is no reason for a rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Maidana. The rematch, being carried by Showtime Pay-Per-View, is scheduled for September 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Maidana exceeded expectations in the first fight, which took place in May, by providing Mayweather with a much tougher challenge than expected. Mayweather won a twelve round majority decision with little to no controversy over the scoring.

"Why is he fighting a rematch. Why is there a rematch of that last fight? I actually fell asleep during that fight. He's giving people what they - sleeping pills," Roach told krikya360.com.

Can Maidana do better in the rematch? No, according to Roach. The Hall of Fame trainer is picking Mayweather to pick up where he left off in the second of the first fight, and outboxing Maidana - this time for the entire twelve rounds.

"No [I don't think there is anything that Maidana can do to win]. Mayweather figured him out after the fourth round and outboxed him in every round from that point on. He knows how to fight him now. This time he'll do the same thing [but] for twelve rounds," Roach said.
