The eagerly-anticipated UK appearance of WBA super-bantamweight king Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-0, 11KOs) lasted just two rounds as James Dickens (22-2) was forced to retire with a broken jaw.

There was little to choose between them in a quiet opening until the Liverpool challenger shipped a big left hand. He took it well enough, but once he got back to his corner he was pulled out.

Rigondeaux has expressed his desire to fight again in Britain and it could be Cardiff again on September 17. The two-tome Olympic gold medal winner sent a strong message to the other fighters in his weight division. He wants to break their jaws as well.

He said: "Dickens said before the fight I was an old man but I ripped his jaw out. All those guys that want their jaws ripped out, I'm here!

"Not 100 of those guys add up to one of me. I want hard fights. People make it boring [against me] once they feel my power."

"I'm here to face everyone. I want to give the fans what they want those guys [who are avoiding me] need to stop running.

"Step in the ring and see - people make it boring because they don't throw a punch.

"I'm not the best fighter in the world, but I'm the most complete. I'm ready to stand in the middle of the ring with everyone, no more running around."
