The former super bantamweight (122 pounds) champion of the World Boxing Association, Panamanian Ricardo 'The Maestrito' Cordoba (39-3-2, 25KOs), is considering whether to retire or continue fighting. Cordoba has been inactive since March 2012, when he knocked out Eduardo Garcia in five rounds. Cordoba has only fought twice since losing a twelve round split decision to Guillermo Rigondeaux in November 2010.
Cordoba has long been bothered by a shoulder injury and his career hangs in the balance on the outcome of several medical tests.
'We are currently investigating whether we will return to boxing, but for now I'm calm. Also, I have to wait for my medical results, because the right shoulder injury still bothering me," said Cordova.
