On March 19 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, super middleweight Renan St-Juste (22-2-1) will compete in the biggest fight of his career when he faces the tough challenge of Colombian puncher Edison Miranda (33-5-0) in a 10-round fight. The encounter will happen on the Lucian Bute-Brian Magee undercard. Miranda returns to the scene of his last fight, where Bute knocked him out in three rounds.
"Miranda is certainly the greatest challenge of my career and I am preparing accordingly. We are two natural hitters. I will continue to increase my strength by working daily with the the best specialists in the field. What is particularly exciting is that I have not lost my speed by going from 160 to 168 pounds. Boxing fans often speak about the power of my left hand, but they forget about the speed of my hands, which is probably my best asset. I'm 38 and my hands have the speed of a boxer who is 20 years old," St-Juste said.
If he beats Miranda, St-Juste has been promised a number two ranking under the WBO and that would place him within a single ranking of getting a shot at the champion, Robert Stieglitz of Germany.
"My goal is obviously Stieglitz. He still defends his title in Germany, but this is not a problem for me. I'll fight him in Germany, Montreal or the United Staes. I will work according to get the knockout," St-Juste said.
