IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (23-0-1, 14KOs) admits his team studied Timothy Bradley's 2011 technical decision victory over Devon Alexander (25-2, 14KOs) - and then used that blueprint to beat Alexander last Saturday night for the IBF crown at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Porter actually spoke to Bradley, the WBO welterweight champion, prior to facing Alexander - and Bradley told him that Alexander is not a big puncher.

"I wanted to make the fight tough for him. I didn't want to make him get into any kind of comfort zone. Fortunately enough for me, I was in my comfort zone. We brought the weight down great this time. I won't say what I walked into the ring at, but trust me I was the bigger man," Porter said.

"[The Bradley fight] was a part of the blueprint. My dad knew what we had to do and we definitely used the Timothy Bradley fight and I think we exploited that [Alexander]couldn't stand up to my power and stand up to my aggressiveness. I was able to hit him with the jab from the outside and outbox him as well."

"I was able to speak with Timothy Bradley before this fight and he said 'he don't have that much power, but he has some pop on  is shots.' I took enough out of him early in the fight that I didn't feel anything at all."
