Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico - Former WBO super bantamweight world champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. (22-2-1, 19 KOs) knocked out Jonathan “Polvo” Oquendo (22-3, 15 KOs) in the seventh round. Oquendo started very strong, but faded as the fight played out and took a beating in the seventh before going down for the full count.
In the co-feature, WBO mimimumweight champion Moises “Moi” Fuentes (16-1, 8 KOs) retained his title for a second time by knocking out Ivan “Iron Boy” Calderon (35-3-1, 6 KOs) in the fifth round. After Calderon outboxed Fuentes in the first three rounds, Fuentes rallied in the fourth and dropped the 37-year-old veteran three times in the fifth to score a knockout.
