PUEBLA, PUEBLA. In a busy and lively press conference in the city of Puebla,  WBA flyweight champion Nicaraguan Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez and his Mexican challenger Manuel "Chango" Vargas, vowed to win at all costs.

Gonzalez (27-0-0, 23 KOs) will make the first defense of his world championship on Saturday in the city of Puebla against the experienced and former world champion Manuel "Chango" Vargas (29-7 -1, 14 KOs) in a clash to be broadcast by TV Azteca in Mexico and FOX SPORTS in the United States.

The "Chocolatito," when taking the microphone, reiterated that he recognizes the worth of Vargas, but he may still win by knockout because of the Mexican's style.

"The Mexican is experienced and he's faced with the best at this weight, but I'm at my best and a win over Vargas gives me a great push to be among the elite and fight in America," said Gonzalez, 23 years old.

As the challenger, the Jalisco fighter, 29 years old, said he prepared to win the crown on Saturday.

"I know his quality is high and he's the champion, but I'm better and my boxing experience will prevail and hopefully I can provide a great spectacle,"; said Vargas.

The World Boxing Association reported that the referee for the world flyweight encounter will be the Panamanian Gustavo Padilla, and the judges are Sergio Caiz (USA), Levi Martinez (USA) and Jesus Cova (EU), and the supervisor is Michael Prado (Panama).
