As I had reported in late January, former WBC light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal (26-2-1, 17 KO’s) had made the trek from his residence in Quebec, Canada to Las Vegas to inquire about learning a few tricks of the trade from renowned trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr.
Floyd Sr. would inform me that he was skeptical whether or not a union with Pascal would ever take place, largely due to money issues.
A little over a month later and Pascal is back, as he has been spotted putting in work inside of the Mayweather Boxing Club. Pascal is tentatively lined up for a May 25th rematch with Chad Dawson in Quebec, yet there were recent rumors that former super middleweight champion Lucian Bute may be a strong possibility.
Pascal noted that he hasn’t chosen a trainer yet, but he could be found working with both Roger Mayweather and his older brother Floyd Sr. recently.
Expect much more from Pascal in the coming days…
