WBC super featherweight world champion Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt closed the sparring stage of his ongoing camp with great intensity on Wednesday, with the aim of heading the boxing card that Zanfer Promotions, in association with Max Boxing, will present on Saturday June 27, at the studios of TV Azteca in CdMx.
The card will be regulated by the safety protocols of the health authorities, as well as the Box Commission of Mexico and the World Boxing Council.
Berchelt (37-1, 33 KO's) will face, in a non-title fight over ten rounds at lightweight, Sinaloan boxer Eleazar "Tronco" Valenzuela (21-13-4, 16 KO's).
Head trainer, Alfredo Caballero, said that Berchelt is in top form, physically and mentally, ready to get into the ring.
The fight will be staged behind closed doors with no spectators.
"I know that the venue will be strange without an audience, but once I'm in the fight my mind will be on winning and giving a great show to the fans watching on television. My opponent is strong and brave, but I'm more than that. I'm coming with everything for him, because when I win there will be [a fight with] Oscar Valdez," said Berchelt, 28 years old.
