As previously reported on krikya360.com, manager Vladimir Hryunov has received an offer for WBA interim-cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev to defend his title against former unified 200lb champion Jean-Marc Mormeck, who has been competing as a heavyweight since 2007. The offer would have the fight taking place in Mormeck's backyard of Paris, France, in early June.
“We have received such an offer”, confirmed Hryunov.
Mormeck (36-5, 22 KOs) is coming off a hard knockout loss to the heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko in his most recent fight, while WBA #1 and WBO #2 Lebedev (24-1, 18 KOs) has just knocked out Shawn Cox in two on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Lebedev reflected on his yesterday’s performance during an improvised press meeting with local reporters.
“I was tagged once during the fight. That happens to me sometimes, and that means I have to work even harder to improve myself further. But I didn’t lose my concentration and I never lost the feeling of the ring. I also heard Kostya Tszyu’s advice to move my shoulder, which I did…
"During the weigh-in I saw that Cox was ready to fight hard and offer me some zealous resistance. That didn’t happen, and his desire to fire back was vaporized after a couple of my bombs. He has also started to miss after I began my movements, thus losing what was left of his determination and confidence”.
