Las Vegas, Nevada - In a junior middleweight battle, Kevin Salgado (14-0-1, 9 KOs) and Bryant Perrella (17-3-2, 14 KOs) fought to a ten round split draw. (photos by Esther Lin, Ryan Hafey)
The scores were 97-93 for Perrella, 96-94 for Salgado and 95-95.
It was a technical contest in the first round, with both boxing. The second was a battle of jabs. Perrella's jab was controlling things in the third and fourth.
Salgado was starting to get a bit more active in the fifth, but still getting outworked and got cracked with a big uppercut. Salgado was letting his hands go more in the sixth and seventh to make things very close, as Perrella was not using his jab as much.
After a close eight, Perrella went back om the jab in the ninth to box. More of the same in the tenth, as they boxed very close.
