The scores were 116-110, 117-109 and 117-109. Buatsi captures the British and Commonwealth titles.

The bout was closely contested with plenty of give and take action. Buatsi landed the more eye-catching punches during the fight. Azeez was rallying with a lot of punches in the championship rounds.

During a combination, Buatsi dropped Azeez in what seemed to be a partial slip. Near the end of the same round, the same thing happened with Azeez getting tagged by a solid hook and going down from what seemed to be partially a slip. In the twelfth, both were tired with Buatsi unloading with a lot of punches in the closing moments and had Azeez in some trouble.
