Panamanian Jezreel Corrales (20-1, 8 KOs) is says there is more hunger in his body as he arrives to rematch on December 31 against Japanese hero Takashi Uchiyama (24-1-1, 20 KOs).
Corrales will defend the super featherweight title of the World Boxing Association (WBA) against Uchiyama. This past April, Corrales scored one of the biggest upsets of the year when he knocked out Uchiyama in two rounds. Uchiyama, who at the time was ranked as one of the best pound for pound boxers in the sport, is eager to avenge his first career defeat.
"In the first fight it's like this, I came in very positive, well focused on doing my job and nothing changes for this fight. I'm coming in with more hunger, with more desire to continue to succeed and with a positive mind," Corrales said today at a press conference held in Japan.
Corrales hopes to successfully defend his reign and give Panama the opportunity to end the year with a world champion.
The Panamanian boxer and his agent, Lesbia de Moss, were greeted with applause during their presentation at the press conference.
