The weights are in and the fighters are ready for battle. A Friday weighin finished off without an issue for the protagonists of this Saturday`s homecoming fight in Gomez Palacio, Durango.
Both fighters weighed at the division limit of 126-pounds.
Southpaw Cristian Mijares (58-4-2, 26KOs) has a difficult task on his hands, as he`ll be facing undefeated Japanese fighter Shohei Kawashima (14-0-2, 3KOs) in a defense of his WBC silver featherweight belt.
At the open workouts, the champion showed his deft speed and considerable power, with a dazzling display of the great gym work, ahead of the real thing.
Kawashima surprised many with his speed, height and excellent technique, mounting a considerable challenge to the WBC silver champion. Shohei is in excellent shape, insisting that the southpaw guard of the Mexican wont be a problem.
