The scores were 119-109, 118-110 and 118-110.
Benn came out pressing and had Dobson on the run and holding in the very first round. Benn was a little wild with his shots. Dobson was slower with his hands and seemed tentative with his punches. Dobson was getting tagged, but taking the punches well.
In the second, Benn was controlling the fight and doing most of the offense. Dobson continued to stay on the backfoot. Benn was significantly faster and his hands. It was one-way action in the third round, with Dobson getting outclassed. In the fourth, Dobson was trying to get something going and was starting to land some good shots, but he was also getting forced back by Benn's faster, harder punches.
During the fifth, both hand moments of success. Dobson's right hands were starting to get through and the fight was becoming a brawl at close range. More give and take action in the sixth. Benn was warned numerous times for coming up with his head. The seventh saw Benn unloading with punches to the head and body in the first minute. Dobson weathered the barrage, but we being outworked.
In the eight, Benn came roaring out after Dobson with punches in bunches. Once again Dobson weathered the storm and was coming forward, forcing Benn to hold at times. Dobson had some moments in the ninth, but he also took some solid shots. Both boxers were unloading with combinations during the tenth. Benn was landing the harder and more eye-catching punches. In the eleventh, the pace really slowed down. Benn was outworking Dobson. They exchange shots in the closing moments. During the twelfth and final round, Dobson rallied with several hard shots that forced Benn to hold on. Benn would come back with heavy shots of his own that Dobson took well.
