Shawn Porter didn’t have to cut off any of his hair to make weight this time. The WBC welterweight champion made weight on his first try Friday for his 147-pound title unification fight against Errol Spence Jr. Porter weighed exactly 147 pounds when he got on the California State Athletic Commission’s scale at the Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown hotel. Porter officially weighed in at 146¾ pounds for that 12-round fight. Las Vegas’ Porter beat Cuba’s Ugas (24-4, 11 KOs) by split decision March 9 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
