This Saturday, November 23rd, Can Xu will be defending his World Boxing Association (WBA) World Featherweight Title against Manny Robles III. Meanwhile, on the same fight card, Andrew Cancio will be defending his WBA World Super Featherweight Title against Rene Alvarado. (photos by Tom Hogan)
The fights will take place at Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino in Indio, California, and will be broadcast live on DAZN in conjunction with the Callum Smith vs John Ryder WBA Super Title bout from Liverpool, England.
Can Xu will be making the second defense of the world title he won in January when he upset the odds against Jesus Rojas in Houston. Since then, he has successfully defended his title against Shun Kubo in May whom he stopped via TKO victory.
Manny Robles III will be entering the bout basically on his own home turf, having fought his last four bouts at the Fantasy Springs Casino. The California native is only 25 years old and will be vying for his first world title.
Xu will be entering the ring with a record of 17 victories, 2 losses, and 3 wins coming via knockout. Robles, on the other hand, will be entering the ring with a record of 18 wins, no losses, and 8 victories coming via knockout.
Andrew Cancio will be defending his WBA World Super Featherweight Title on the very same fight card. Cancio is making the third defense of his title, having stopped Alberto Machado twice this year – taking the crown from him in big upset victories.
Cancio’s opponent will be the veteran Rene Alvarado, who will be fighting for his first world title. Alvarado is entering the ring on a seven fight winning streak and looking to upset Cancio and take his first world title back to Nicaragua.
Cancio will be entering the ring with a record of 21 wins, 4 losses, 2 draws, and 16 victories via knockout. Meanwhile, Alvarado will be entering the ring with a record of 31 victories, 8 losses, and 20 victories coming via knockout.
