Russian junior welterweight contender Khabib Allakhverdiev (16-0, 7 KOs) starts training with hall-of-famer and former champion Kostya Tszyu. He faces former world champion Kendall Holt (28-5, 16 KOs) on June 20th in Moscow, Russia. Zab Judah, the IBF's champion at 140-pounds, will be part of the pre-fight promotions. He arrives in Moscow on June 6th.
"I am pleased with the preparations. Khabib is a very tough and talented boxer. Training is very intense and exhausting, but that's exactly what you he needs against an opponent like the Holt," Tszyu said.
Tszyu is very familiar with Holt. When the boxing icon was a champion at 140, he used Holt as a sparring partner.
"I'm not used to such a high density of training, Tszyu is very demanding coach, but that's exactly what I need now. I have a strong and dangerous opponent," Khabib said.
