Super middleweight Christian Mbilli won a wide but surprisingly competitive 10-round unanimous decision over Sergiy Derevyanchenko on Saturday at Centre Videotron in Quebec City, Canada.

Derevyanchenko (15-6, 10 KOs) has seen more than his share of tough matchups and even tougher luck, and fate struck again Saturday when he suffered a torn biceps during the fight. Yet he managed to make Mbilli (28-0, 23 KOs) work for his win, avoided a stoppage and maintained his unblemished streak of finishing fights on his feet as a pro.

Guido Vianello gradually closed the left eye of Arslanbek Makhmudov and closed the show in the eighth round when the ringside doctor had seen Makhmudov (19-2, 18 KOs) take enough punishment. Vianello (13-2-1, 11 KOs) suddenly looks like a fringe heavyweight contender.
