At just 21 days before the biggest fight of his life, Mexican super middleweight Marco Antonio Peribán wants to be the successor of Andre Ward and said that Sakio Bika will not be a barrier to realizing his dream of becoming world champion.

With 28 years old, Peribán said Ward left a wide gap for any Super Middleweight, but would love to get into that mix of warriors who now compose Ward, Carl Froch, Mikkel Kessler and some more.

Ward was the WBC's champion, but the World Boxing Council made the title vacant after Ward suffered an injury and indicated that he would need several months to recover.

Periban will now faces Bika, a very dangerous veterna, for the vacant WBC crown on June 22nd in a Showtime televised fight from the Barlcays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

"It will be a very important boxing card, that is headlined by a great fighter such as Adrien Broner, in a great arena such as the Barclays Center. I think that all of the nesessary conditions are there to shine that night and to earn that place for which I have fought to get to for such a long time, "said Peribán (20-0, 13 KO's).
