Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires, Argentina - Hometown hero Omar Narvaez (34-0-2, 19KOs) retained the WBO's super flyweight title with a twelve round unanimous decision over previously undefeated César "Junito" Seda (20-1, 15KOs). The scores were 117-110, 115-112 and 117-110. The fight was certainly closer than the scores would indicate, but Narvaez withstood the early flames to overcome a tired Seda in the later rounds.

Seda stayed true to his word and tried to knock Narvaez out at every turn. He threw high volumes of punches, but at the same time he came in reckless and left himself open to counters. As a result he allowed Narvaez to steal certain rounds with a more accurate punch output. After Seda was unable to complete his plan to secure a win by knockout, there was no Plan B on reserve. He continued to throw in high numbers, but very few of those punches found their target. 

Seda was visibly tired in the later rounds, yet he showed a championship heart by continuing to throw punches. Of course, by that point his punches had lost their steam and Narvaez knew the threat of danger had passed, which made him take more calculated risks but he never made the mistake of exchanging punches.
