Anthony Yigit (22-1-1, 7 KOs) will face Sandro Hernandez (15-7-3, 10 KOs) as the slick southpaw returns to action on May 4 at the Fraport Arena in Frankfurt.

Yigit outpointed Mohamed Khalladi on February 16 at the CGM Arena in Koblenz following a brave attempt at the IBF World Super Lightweight title in his World Boxing Super Series Quarter-Final clash with Ivan Baranchyk.

The 27 year-old, currently based in Gran Canaria, is back in Germany for another eight-round clash against Venezuela’s Sandro Hernandez, who in his last bout went the distance with Yigit’s former opponent Sandor Martin.

“I was satisfied with my performance against Khalladi because we got a good victory against a solid opponent. He knew he had a chance to make a name for himself if he beat me so he came to win and went out fighting with all he got,” says Yigit who wants to keep active as he awaits a return to the World stage.

“Hernandez fought and went the distance with Sandor Martin, who I defended my European title against in 2017, and who I would say is one of the top fighters in Europe, so I expect Hernandez to come and try to make a statement.

“It’s important for me to keep busy because I love fighting. I love the thrill of going in the ring and hearing the crowd cheer after a good fight. I like to entertain, and this is the only way I know how so the more I fight the better. Also it will keep me prepared for when a big fight comes, but I treat every fight the same. I’m always training hard and I'm always giving it 110%.”

Yigit joins a stacked card in Frankfurt topped by the IBF International Lightweight title clash between Leon Bunn and Leon Harth, and featuring super welterweight star Abass Baraou against former World ruler Ali Funeka.

Heavyweight Albon Pervizaj is also in action taking on Gabriel Enguema, while 17 year-old sensation Sophie Alisch returns for her third professional contest, and Danish heavyweight hope Kem Ljungquist meets Dominik Musil.

All the action from the Fraport Arena will be available to watch live on Sport1 in Germany. Tickets are available online via .

Horsens boxers Amer Rasinlic and Michael Nielsen will make their professional debuts on June 22 on the undercard of Dina Thorslund’s WBO Female World Super Bantamweight title defence against April Adams at the Forum Horsens.

"I am looking forward to getting the chance to box as a professional," says light heavyweight Rasinlic. “Team Sauerland are one of the largest promotional companies in the world so this is a big opportunity for me, and to do it on the undercard of Dina Thorslund’s World title fight makes it even better!

“I know many people will come and watch me fight. I have many friends who love to watch boxing, and when I box in Horsens, I tend to get really good support. My family will certainly come too as it is a great thing for them also. Being allowed to enter the Forum Horsens for my debut is a dream come true!”

Nielsen, a former break-dancer, claimed gold in the 56 kg category at the 2018 Danish Elite Championships, and like his BK Vitus amateur teammate, is excited to be making his professional debut at the Forum Horsens.

“I want to show that it’s never too late to go for a dream,” he says. “I became Danish Elite Champion in 2018 in just my seventh fight and after only two years of training. I’ve trained hard to achieve my goals, and others can too.

“I feel honoured to have the opportunity to make my professional debut for one of the biggest promoters in the world, and at my home ground in Horsens. I am grateful to have this chance and will take it with both hands.

“I know that there will be a lot of support for me in Horsens. I have lived here since I came back from the Philippines in 1994. At home in Horsens, I will do everything I can to win. With so many spectators at my back, I must not lose!"

Undefeated Scots Kieran Smith and Michael McGurk will clash for Smith’s WBC International Silver super-welterweight title in Glasgow on June 22 – in association with Top Rank and live on ESPN+.

With the headline act of the #MTKFightNight to be announced in due course, local fans are already guaranteed a collision between two of the country’s most promising fighters.

Greenrigg’s towering southpaw Smith (14-0, 7 KOs) puts his belt on the line against Uddingston resident McGurk (12-0, 3 KOs) at Emirates Arena in front of a global TV audience.

Smith, who stopped Jan Balog at the same venue back in March, said: “It's a massive fight with it being on Glasgow and ESPN+, and it's a great fight that offers both of us the chance to progress.

“The loser can still come back as we're both young, but I'm looking to be the man progressing on the night.

"I knew our paths would cross at some stage but I didn't know when or where, so I'm really happy that the fight is on and I can't wait until June 22.”

McGurk added: “I’m delighted to get this fight. It’s one I’ve wanted for a while now so I’m buzzing for it, especially on such a big show in Glasgow, so you’ll hear my supporters for sure. Fighting live on ESPN+ is unbelievable too.

"I thought the fight would happen eventually but I didn’t think it would happen so soon. I’m glad MTK Global has come up with the goods."

Stay tuned for announcements regarding the main event plus more of the hottest talent in Scotland along with international stars on the undercard, which will all be streamed on iFL TV.
