Nery "Pantera" Saguilan is promising to fight like a mythical winged creature of the night called a Chonchon when he encounters ex-super lightweight Champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley On August 22nd at the Josue Nery Santos Municipal Gym in Cuidad Juarez.

 

Nery - along with that famous mask - was accompanied by his trainer Lorenzo Lopez, as well as Prof. Leonardo Fonseca who's the director of that city's Institute of Sport. Juarez is planning to make a spectacular comeback on that night after a three year drought of  boxing.  Big hitters Adrian Estrella and Micky Roman who are also on the card, promise fireworks.

 

Several wags at the WBC weekly Press Conference suggested that Nery might devour DeMarcus ( 42 wins, 25 KO's, but 23 defeats and 1 draw) like a "snack."  However a generous portion of Chop Chop's defeats came at the hands of high fiber fighters including: Floyd Mayweather, Zab Judah, Devon Alexander, Lucas Matthysse, Ruslan Provodnikov and Viktor Postal. 

 

Nery described Chop Chop as a dangerous rival, but also vowed: "He's going back to the United States with yet another defeat and it'll end early!

 

"I'm 26 and he's 41, but just look at Juan Manuel Marquez. He's carved out a path for himself!  I myself am going to be a tremendous Chonchon."
