After producing a career-best performance against Birmingham dangerman, Max Maxwell, in February, more good news has followed for Coldwell Boxing’s Nav Mansouri as the BBBC have nominated the Rotherham prospect to compete for the English light-middleweight title against another Birmingham opponent, Nasser Al Harbi. Promoter Dave Coldwell is delighted for his charge.

“This opportunity for Nav is the reward that all his hard work deserves because he’s been outstanding since day one. The last year or so, I’ve really stepped things up for Nav because I’m certain that he can have a big future in boxing and I just wanted to test him to see if he had what it takes deep down. He was outstanding against Nathan Graham, superb against Maxwell and he was desperately unlucky in Prizefighter too. The English title is a big thing for Nav but I’m confident that it’s only the start of better things to come.”

Coldwell added, “If the fight with Al Harbi can’t be made then we’ll happily take on the next available challenger but all I know is that Nav will be ready for whoever is in the opposite corner come fight night and it’ll take an almighty performance to stop him getting his hands on the English title. I fully believe that we’re dealing with one of British boxing’s next stars and I can’t wait to watch him go out and prove it.”
