Heavyweight contender Monte "Two Gunz" Barrett said he is heading to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) training facility in Tampa, Fla. known as Florida Championship Wrestling at the end of October. The 35-9-2 (20 KO) Barrett, who is coming off a unanimous decision win over David Tua a month ago, said he will be there for two weeks to get his feet wet, then return for a two month full training camp to learn the in's-and-out's of professional wrestling.

"I gotta call [WWE senior director of talent relations] Ty Bailey this week and go through some of the particulars, but I know whatever it's gonna be, it will be a lot of hard work," said Barrett. "I told him I will commit 110% and put my best foot forward with everything that I do."

The 40-year-old Barrett had been offered a fight in New Zealand against Shane Cameron, but said, "It wasn't something I'm really interested in at this time."
