STAGE two of an emotional homecoming for Michael Katsidis has been successfully completed after the two-time former world champion made a triumphant return to the ring in Toowoomba last night.

Katsidis ended two years in the world boxing wilderness with a third-round stoppage of Eddy Comaro in front of a packed house of adoring fans at Rumours International.

The bout was Katsidis' first home-town fight in eight years as he embarks on a career comeback and his first re-united with trainer Brendon Smith who helped guide the 33-year-old to two WBO world lightweight titles.

Katsidis had not fought since losing to Albert Mensah in Las Vegas in April 2012 and his measured comeback fight was executed brilliantly against the tough Indonesian.

Katsidis "felt" his way through round one before starting to show glimpses of his class, speed and strength in round two which soon had Comaro under pressure.

The pair took turns at exchanging a number of furious blows in round three before a "stunned" Comaro retreated to his corner after 1:11 seconds to hand Katsidis his tko victory.

Katsidis, who earlier declared the fight as" make-or-break", was bubbling with emotion as he celebrated victory with supporters after two "lost" career years.
