The full show for the Aug. 3 bill in Los Angeles has been announced, which is topped by Terence Crawford’s attempts at WBA champion Israil Madrimov’s WBO 154-pound title.
It had been thought that Deontay Wilder might fight Jared Anderson on the show, but following his devastating loss to Zhilei Zhang on June 1, Scotland-based Billy Nelson-trained Martin Bakole will be in the opposite corner against Anderson.
As expected at the BMO Stadium, big heavyweights Andy Ruiz and Jarrell Miller are also on the bill, and there’s a space for 3-0 Cuban hotshot Andy Cruz, who faces Antonio Moran.
Super middleweight prospect David Morrell boxes Radivoje Kalajdzic and Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz defends his WBA 140-pound title for the first time against Jose Valenzuela.
Rapper Eminem is also set to perform as a special guest. He walked Crawford out to his last fight, against Errol Spence in Las Vegas last July and visited Saudi Arabia to watch Tyson Fury’s fight with Francis Ngannou last year.
The show is being held in conjunction with Riyadh Season, with Golden Boy Promotions, Top Rank, Matchroom, Salita Promotions, Warriors Boxing, No Limit Boxing all on the fight poster, and Bakole is with Boxxer.
