Mark Heffron may well have set up a title shot with his latest win.

The WBC International Silver middleweight champion was in action as part of the supporting cast to Josh Warrington’s bid to retain the IBF featherweight title against mandatory challenger Kid Galahad at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.

Heffron, who returned to winning ways against Serge Ambomo at Oldham Leisure Centre back in March after suffering his first pro reverse against Liam Williams last December, took on Daniel Urbanski of Poland over six rounds.

And with the win by 60 points to 54, it is understood that ‘Kid Dynamite’ — who improved his record to 23-1 with 17 stoppages — is in line for a shot at the European middleweight title.

The EBU originally named Watford’s unbeaten Elliott Matthews as his opponent for their EU title but the former English champion has pulled out.

So Heffron will now wait on a decision as to when he will face the champion, undefeated Kamil Szerementa (19-0, 4 KOs), for the belt, with further details to be revealed in due course.

Meanwhile, Kody Davies returned to the ring for the first time since losing his sister Jade to secure a win.

The Welshman, who recently joined Queensberry Promotions after leaving Hayemaker Boxing, took on Harry Mathews over six rounds and had his hand raised after the referee Michael Alexander handed in a tally of 60 points to 53 following Matthews’ topple to the canvas in the final stanza.

Troy Williamson continued his unbeaten run with a stoppage win over Edwin Palacios. The North East man was set for eight rounds, but got the job done after 67 seconds of the sixth round after three knockdowns.

Lyndon Arthur remained undefeated with yet another quick finish.

The Moston light-heavyweight is now 15-0 with 12 quick after dispatching of Andrzej Soldra in double-quick time.

Arthur, trained by Pat Barrett, unleashed heavy shots on his Polish opponent from the beginning of the contest and the referee called a halt to proceedings after just two minutes and 25 seconds of the opening round.

And Jack McGann kicked off proceedings with a straightforward 40-36 points win over the game Kevin McCauley on referee Howard Foster’s scorecard.

But there was disappointment for Liverpool’s Alex Dickinson as he was on the wrong end of a 77-76 scoreline against Polish danger man Kamil Sokolowski at the end of eight.
