Marcos Villasana Jr., from Acapulco, retained the WBC International lightweight belt on Saturday night, with a sensational victory at the Oasis Arena Cancun, when he handed down a nine-round technical knockout over dangerous contender Jose Felix Jr.

The son of former world champion Marcos Villasana imposed his conditions from start to finish, showing that he worked on a hard strategy in the gym, since he received from his corner precise instructions of the plan to follow.

Marcos, with powerful right hands, took Felix Jr. on the ropes in the early rounds of the brawl, sending him to the canvas in the fourth round - the product of the severe punishment that ended up eventually breaking him. The action continued with a very active Villasana, who masterfully avoided the attacks of 'Josesito' who did not lose his composure knowing that at any moment he could change the course of the fight.

After announcing the open scores as they entered the second half, Villasana launched a furious attack to complete the work, causing the referee Frank Gentile to stop the fight, declaring the winner to the Acapulco fighter and improving his record to 22 wins, 6 defeats with 13 knockouts.

And Felix dropped down to 36 wins, 3 defeats, 1 draw and 28 knockouts.

In the co-feature presented by Promociones del Pueblo in association with Cancún Boxing, saw Francisco 'Paquito' Rojo win on the fast track over Colombian Galvis Guerra, who could not continue with the battle when the eighth round passed.

Rojo was battering him with hard punches from start to finish, round after round, as he broke down Guerra with consistent punishment.

Before the end of the fight, Galvis resigned to continue in the brawl, and the venue erupted in jubilation when the referee declared Rojo as the winner. He got his win and secured the 15th by knockout in 22 victories.
