New opponent, new venue - As krikya360.com first reported on Monday, Marco Huck will defend his IBO title within the next four and a half weeks.
The reigning cruiserweight world champion steps into the ring at the TUI Arena in Hannover, Germany on November 19 to take on Dmytro Kucher, the current champion of Europe. The 32-year old challenger is known for being a big puncher and currently holds a record of 24 wins out of 26 professional fights, with 18 victories coming by way of knockout.
During his last outing the Ukrainian won the EBU championship via a first round KO against Britain's Enzo Maccarinelli. Huck was forced to find a new opponent after Ovill McKenzie pulled out of their fight scheduled for September 24 on short notice.
Marco Huck: “To be honest, I believe that Kucher is a much stronger opponent than McKenzie. He got past Maccarinelli in style and crowned himself as the european champion. He has a lot of power and can end a fight with one punch. But the harder the challenge the more motivate I am. I am very happy that I am able to step into the ring just eight weeks after the previous cancelation. I was in perfect shape and I will take that shape into the fight against Kucher.”
Dmytro Kucher: I am excited to be fighting Huck in Hannover. In order to win the EBU championship I had to face Maccarinelli in his backyard and in the end I gave him no chance. Now I want to make sure that Huck suffers the same fate. I will travel back home as the IBO world champion.”
