Former cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (38-3-1, 26KOs) expects to become even stronger after suffering an unexpected knockout loss to undefeated Krzysztof Glowacki on Friday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

For Huck, the defeat spoiled his American debut and snatched away his dream of breaking the cruiserweight title defense record of Johnny Nelson [Huck and Nelson are tied at 13 defenses].

Huck, 30-years-old, was ahead on all three of the official scorecards and dropped Glowacki in the sixth round. The Polish challenger came roaring back after in the later rounds to drop Huck with a hook to the chin in the eleventh. Huck made it to his feet and was battered until the referee jumped in to wave things off.

For Huck it was first loss of his career sat cruiserweight since 2007. He lost a close twelve round decision to Alexander Povetkin in a 2012 heavyweight contest and most felt Huck did enough to win that fight.

"You can imagine how disappointed I am. It's just something that's not supposed to happen. I was ahead on all three scorecards. But in boxing a single moment can be decisive and so can every punch. This time, I had no luck. However, I am not one of those who just gives up [after losing]. After this defeat, I will be even stronger," Huck said.
