Maksym Bursak (20-0-1, 8 KOs) won the vacant middleweight WBO Inter-Continental title, confidently beating German Marco Schulze (29-6-1, 17 KOs) in the main event of a boxing fight night held in the Sport Palace in Kiev, Ukraine. The Ukrainian boxer had visible advantage from the starting rounds, constantly landing power punches. On the other hand Schulze who had never been knocked out before, showed that he can take punches well.
Still in the round eight, Bursak was able to find Schulze’s weak spot. His left cross to the liver sent Marco on the canvas. Though the referee made a mistake and didn’t start to count, the bout was stopped because Schulze refused to continue.
“The most important for me is the exciting victory”, - told Maksym after the fight. – “I want to thank my fans for their support. In my next bouts I’d like to face one of the world champions in my division – Felix Sturm, Sebastian Sylvester or Sergio Gabriel Martinez."
