Brian Magee will be looking to make it a hat-trick of stoppage wins in Denmark when he faces Mikkel Kessler in Herning on December 8.

The Belfast bomber will be a huge underdog against the 'Viking Warrior' in his back yard but the veteran won't be overawed by his trip across the North Sea.

Magee has already stopped Mads Larsen and Rudy Markussen against the odds, picking up European and the interim WBA super-middleweight titles along the way.

And now with the full title on the line, Magee is looking forward to arguably the biggest challenge of his long career.

"Mikkel is a great fighter and he ranks up there with the all-time greats," he said. "We have a mutual respect for each other.

"We both have a lot of power, so it will be a great fight. I've beaten Larsen and Markussen, and I will beat Kessler too."

Kessler has never lost on home soil and although he respects Magee, is expecting to regain the belt he held from 2004-07.

"Brian is a warrior," said the 33-year-old. "There are a lot of similarities between us and he is not scared to fight abroad.

"He has made two successful trips to Denmark - but I will make sure his third trip over is not a good one for him.

"I have never lost a fight in Denmark and it will be no different against Magee."

Magee has enjoyed an Indian summer after he lost to an up-and-coming Carl Froch in 2006.

Formerly the IBO super-middleweight champion, Magee finally got his hands on the British title and then the European belt by stopping Larsen inside seven rounds.

Despite losing to Froch-victim Lucien Bute last year Magee - now 37 - remained in title contention and got his hands on the interim WBA belt when travelling to Costa Rica to beat Jaime Barboza on points.
