Mads Larsen will make his fourth fight after his comeback on October 27 when he takes on Emiliano Cayetano in Erfurt. The former European super-middleweight champion is eager to put himself back into a position for a title fight. "I want to fight for international titles again soon," the Golden Boy stated. "My goal remains a world title fight." That´s why the 34-year-old Dane (48-2, 37 KOs) has set his sights on a victory over his unbeaten opponent (16-0, 10 KOs) next week. "I have carefully prepared myself for the meeting with Cayetano," he said. "He has won all 16 of his fights as a professional and that tells you something about his abilitiy."
Larsen has shown tremendous improvement in each of his last three fights. He cruised to uncontested points victories over Vasily Andriyanov and former WBO champion Hector Javier Velazco before convincingly defeating Nader Hamdan in Berlin on August 18. Back in the top 15 of the WBA rankings, he is keen to follow it up with a good showing in Erfurt. "Of course things take a while but I feel a lot of progress and really enjoy working with Ulli Wegner," Larsen added.
The fight in Erfurt will certainly be a special one for the former European super-middleweight champion who returns to the place where he dropped a close points decision against then-WBA/IBF supremo Sven Ottke in September 2003. "I thought I had won the fight but the judges held a different view," Larsen said. "Despite the outcome I liked Erfurt a lot. It is a nice city and the people were very friendly. Even though they did not support me for obvious reasons, the fans were great."
