Light Heavyweight contender Yusaf Mack returns to action on May 30th in Tampa Florida. Mack appears on the undercard of the world title showdown of Andre Berto v Juan Urango. His opponent is former NABO and world title challenger DeAndrey Abron. Abron is currently on an unlucky run of form since pushing WBO champion Zsolt Erdei all the way in Germany. He has travelled over to Europe in order to stay busy and has felt the wrath of some poor refereeing along the way..
He fell short in his challenge to former WBA title holder Valery Brudov when he was stopped after 7 rounds when Abron¡¯s own corner had seen enough, then he was harshly stopped in 2 rounds by undefeated Russian puncher Igor Michalikin. Abron was knocked down by a solid right hand, but seemed to recover well, Michalikin jumped on him and the referee was all too quick to dive in and stop the action. Now Abron returns to his own soil to turn around his poor run of form.
Current NABF champion Mack will have something to say about that when they meet at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Mack now on a four fight winning streak has showed a new lease of life and with wins over Daniel Judah, Omar Pittman and Chris Henry in the last three and Mack is feeling invincible. I am on top of my game right now says Mack, I am stronger, faster and hit harder than I ever did before, as long as my preparation for fights goes well there is no one in the division that can beat me. Abron is a tough challenger, he is 6'3 and shared the ring with a couple of world champions so I am not looking past him, but he is in my way and I shall be removing him on the 30th.
